Focus bikes: latest reviews, news and buying advice

Looking for your next new bike from Focus? This is where you’ll find all the latest news and reviews from the brand.

German brand Focus is known for its wide range of quality bikes that covers almost all cycling disciplines.

Focus was founded by three-time cyclocross World Champion Mike Kluge in 1991, and originally specialised in mountain bikes. It later expanded its range to include touring bikes, and finally moved into the road market in 2003.

Recently, Focus has invested heavily in the e-bike market, with offerings for the road, all-mountain riding and commuting alike.

Focus’ bikes have also featured more than once in the Cycling Plus magazine Bike of the Year awards (co-presented by BikeRadar), with the Focus Izalco Max Disc road bike winning ‘Disc Brake Bike of the Year’ in 2016, and the Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 winning overall ‘Bike of the Year’ in 2012.

For its e-road offerings, there’s the Paralane², and for the mud-lovers there’s the Mares, Focus’ cyclocross bike.

Both the Jam and Sam come with e-bike versions: the Jam² and Sam².

For hardtails, Focus has two frames on offer, the XC Raven and the Whistler, its sport model.

Focus also has a range of e-MTB hardtails available: the everyday Whistler², the touring Jarifa², the trail Jam² HT and the race-focused Raven².
