Canyon Bicycles history
Canyon was founded in 1985 by brothers Roman and Franc Arnold. In the late 1990s, the brand embraced a direct-to-consumer model, selling bikes on the internet, bypassing bike shops and cutting out the middle man.

Canyon produces a comprehensive range of road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes and just about everything else, including time-trial bikes, cyclocross bikes and gravel bikes.

Canyon Bicycles 2020 road bikes
For road cyclists there are three different frames available: the endurance-focused Endurace, the aero-optimised Aeroad and an all-round-racer called the Ultimate. There are now disc brake versions of all these bikes.
There’s also a cyclocross platform called InFlite and the incredibly polarising Grail gravel bike.

For mountain bikers, there’s a wide range available: for the Lycra-clad racers you’ve got an alloy hardtail called the Grand Canyon, there's the carbon XC-focused Exceed hardtail and the Lux, a full-sus XC bike.
On the rowdier end of the spectrum there’s the Neuron trail bike, the longer-travel model Spectral, and the burly Torque.
There’s also an enduro model called the Strive, a downhill race bike called the Sender, and a dirt jumping model called the Stitched.
For those wanting more power, Canyon also offers two electric moungtain bikes, the Neuron:ON and Spectral:ON.

Other Canyon bikes for 2020
For triathletes and time trialists there’s the Canyon Speedmax — a bike ridden to back-to-back wins at the Ironman World Champs in Hawaii in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Finally, for those wanting a day-to-day bike for riding around town, Canyon also produces a smaller range of hybrid bikes: the Canyon Commuter, Urban and Roadlite.

You can’t buy Canyon bikes from a bike shop, only via the Canyon website, or by visiting its Koblenz showroom.
