A short history of Cannondale bikes

Cannondale is an American brand that was founded in 1971 as an outdoor and camping gear company, who eventually moved into the bike market in the ‘80s. Cannondale is known for its innovation, and particularly its use of the brand’s groundbreaking use of aluminium. It’s never forgotten its roots, but it has made huge innovations in recent years, since it was purchased by Dorel Industries in 2008 and became part of the Cycling Sports Group.

These days Cannondale is highly regarded for its road bike offerings. Its CAAD12 range has featured multiple times in the Cycling Plus magazine Bike of the Year, winning the overall title in 2016, and placing in the top three for the ‘Road Bike of the Year £1,000-£2,000’ category in 2018.

Cannondale’s range doesn’t stop there, though. It also offers a huge variety of mountain bikes, urban and fitness bikes, e-bikes, women’s specific bikes, and kids’ bikes.
